"The real way the Burning Zone has affected me is to make me a little more aware of my own spirituality. I've been a lapsed Christian for a long time. The Burning Zone has gotten me to think about my religion again. It’s something I haven't done in a long while. Am I better for it? I think so. I've gone back to the source - the bible. Maybe I'm not as lapsed as I thought I was."

"I guess the Burning Zone has reminded me that science and religious belief don't have to be enemies. I have had that preached at me so many times. I was actually starting to believe it. It’s the same with science fiction. I don't read some authors anymore because, book after book, they only have one and the same thing to say: humanity and the wise use of science will save us all. I can only hear that so many times before I wonder how they can believe that anyone, reading or watching sci-fi, hasn't heard that at least a million-odd times. It’s like I don't get it or something. Wish I could tell them to buy a vowel or something. Okay, already. I 'get' it. I just don't buy it."

"Burning Zone provides a creative alternative to the usual late night entertainment. The ‘old’ Burning Zone had warmth, depth, character, and characters that were interesting and caring - very human. The ‘new’ Burning Zone lacks these qualities. It makes me feel nauseous and gives me nightmares."

"Burning Zone is a show that has touched people throughout the world. Through this show, I have not only meet wonderful people but have bonded with them in a way that would be impossible to put in words."

"My favorite character is Dr. Edward Marcase. He is one of the reasons I started watching The Burning Zone. He has this spiritual outlook, but at the same time, he also has this human side that lets you know he can make mistakes just like the rest of us. He believes in the supernatural and the unknown, while at the same time he is helping people in need. His life story is very interesting since he had to face Ebola and he lived in Zaire for much of his childhood. Edward Marcase is someone who really fits in with the Burning Zone team (or should I say the 'old' Burning Zone team?) He is also a virologist, which is very cool."

"My favorite BZ character is Dr. Kimberly Shiroma, played by Tamlyn Tomita. First of all, I really enjoy Tamlyn's acting. Her tone of speech and expressions really reflects the character background and personality. It’s her acting that makes me really know more about the character. Dr. Shiroma is portrayed as those never-to-give-up kinds. She is intelligent, compassionate and a powerful character in the crisis team. She is also clear and knows what she's doing, even in critical and pressurizing circumstances."

"It is difficult to single out one character from 'The Burning Zone', because the team dynamics (I speak here of the original team) were so dependent on the combination of elements brought by each member. The characters' personalities were completely interlocked and balanced against each other. However, if I had to choose one character, I would say my favorite was Dr. Marcase. His compassion and the depth of his caring for all people was very powerful. It’s so much more than I would have expected from a TV series."
-Marjorie Randall

"Dr. Edward Marcase has been my favorite character from the first episode. He seems to wear his heart on his sleeve where I wear mine. He's not afraid to buck the system if the system needs bucking. He backs down from nothing and is fearless to the point of being fool-hardy at times, such as in Midnight of the Carrier."
